Robert Dye, LLC

Building Enclosure Consulting

Bob Dye contributes over thirty years construction experience to his clients’ projects.  His certification as one of approximately 450 Registered Roofing Consultants in the country demonstrates his qualifications in the field of roof consulting.  He was the project manager on a nationwide roof asset management program recently completed for a multi-billion dollar property owner.  In the past year he authored construction documents on over thirty separate, diverse, projects.  These projects were geographically dispersed across the USA, Minnesota to Texas, New York to California and Hawaii.

The largest project was the Louisiana Superdome project in New Orleans, LA.  Hurricane Katrina caused extensive damage to the roof.  Bob served as a specification consultant for the project architect, and made bi-weekly visits to the job site to observe progress and monitor roof installation quality.  He also provided flashing details to the architect to include in the construction documents.  The relevant features of this project are its complex scale, and difficult access as well as the regular monitoring of materials installation.  The project was completed ahead of schedule and in spec.

Bob was the roof consultant on the West Virginia University Coliseum reroof project in 2004.  The project involved restoring the Coliseum roof to its original condition. Bob assessed the condition of the deteriorated roof, helped make decisions needed to bring the roof back to as close to original appearance and function as possible, wrote the construction specifications, helped evaluate contractor bids, helped administer the construction process and finalized the close out documents.  People working on the project considered it a success both aesthetically and economically.

Finally, Bob regularly serves on technical committees of the Construction Specifications Institute, formerly as national chair of the Certification Committee, and recently as regional chair of the Certification Committee.  He has extensive experience evaluating building enclosures and writing reports and specifications that are clear, correct, concise, and complete.

Working with owners, architects, general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, insurance companies or attorneys, Bob’s services cover a wide range of building enclosure services including:
